Ghost of Kyiv
The gigantic and awe-inspiring AN-225 "Mriya" is the world's largest and most powerful transport aircraft, created by the Kyiv Design Bureau named Antonov. With a take-off weight of 640 t, it has always attracted attention after landing at airports around the world. In the most distant corners of the earth, it dreamed of returning to its native Gostomel, where it was proud and honored.
On February 24, he was the first to receive the devastating envious fury of the rashist orcs. It was defenseless and broken. There are legends that there is a guard in the air ghost plane near Kyiv, where the "Mriya" has been buried since its destruction. They say the pilot of that plane is the spirit of the "Mriya", looking for the pilot who destroyed it.
Every enemy plane that flew near Kyiv after the events at the Gostomel airfield did not return. Some rumors and witnesses say that they saw a plane in which the pilot looked like a ghost, he suddenly imperceptibly appeared and very quickly destroyed enemy aircraft. There are also rumors that the ghost does not take it easy until you kill the enemy that killed the "Mriya".
Ghost of Kyiv
The Ghost of Kyiv is the nickname given to a mythical MiG-29 Fulcrum flying ace credited with shooting down six Russian planes over Kyiv during the Kyiv offensive on 24 February 2022. Various reports, including the Security Service of Ukraine, made similar claims. The Ghost of Kyiv has been credited as a morale booster for Ukrainians and as a narrative for Ukraine's success during the Russo- Ukrainian War.
Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) supported the story about the Ghost of Kyiv, noting that he could be one of the experienced reserve military pilots who quickly returned to the ranks of the Armed Forces after the invasion began. So, for example, on February 27, the SBU reported in a post on Facebook that the Ghost had shot down 10 enemy planes.
According to the initial version, the real name of the pilot was not revealed for his safety. In the photos circulated, which may depict the pilot, a rather young man can be seen, whose face is hidden by a balaclava.
